COVID-19 Public Statement
COVID-19 Public Statement
Dear Residents of Upper Chichester Township;
As you may have heard by now, the Upper Chichester Township Board of Commissioner declared a “Disaster Emergency” at the Board of Commissioners meeting on March 12, 2020. This declaration was a necessary step to ensure that essential Municipal services could continue to be delivered during the time that the Township is directly and indirectly affected by the virus known as COVID-19.
Since the night of March 12th, Governor Wolf and President Trump through the guidance of the Pennsylvania Department of Health (http://health.pa.gov/), and the Center for Disease Control (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus) have issued various mandates, and guidance. While this information is coming daily and seems to be ever changing, the Board of Commissioners of Upper Chichester believes it is best to heed the advice and adapt the operation of the Township services for the time being.
Effective March 18th the Township offices will be closed to all visitors. Staff will be working remotely when possible. All essential services, such as Sanitation Collection, and Police Services will continue as normal. All non-essential events and meetings will be postponed until further notice. Please visit our website www.upperchi.org for the latest updates from our office closure and links to information about COVID-19. It is essential that during these times everyone stays calm and makes wise decisions. Please follow the guidance and recommendations given by the CDC and the PA Department of Health and continue taking everyday precautions
