FREE Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program on ZOOM

Beginning April 26th 2021.
Most people with arthritis have pain. Pain is often their #1 concern and it becomes a barrier in starting and sticking with an exercise program. Getting regular physical activity plays a big role in managing our overall pain by helping protect our joints, making our muscles stronger, reducing muscular stress, lessening depression, and helping us feel better. So….Why not join the Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program!
If you are age 60 or over and need relief from arthritis pain or just want to get active, the 6-week Walk With Ease program can teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life. This program is proven to reduce the pain of arthritis; increase balance, strength and walking pace; build confidence in your ability to be physically active; and improve your overall health.
Participate in this self-directed enhanced version of the Arthritis Foundation’s evidence-based Walk with Ease Program. Receive the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease Guide Book; a guide to walking for better health, improved fitness and less pain.
Start where you are and walk 3 times a week on your own with assistance from your leader in this self-directed version of the program. Be inspired, share and receive support from leader and other walkers at weekly on-line ZOOM group meetings held on Mondays at 1:00 p.m. beginning April 26th and running for 6 weeks with our last session being held on Tuesday, June 1st at 1:00 p.m. due to Memorial Day. Receive support from your leader and program participants; information and direction through weekly Zoom meetings with other walkers just like you; and weekly e-mails from your leader with helpful information from the Arthritis Foundation.
What’s not to like about walking? It’s free. It’s easy to do, and it’s easy on the joints. The Arthritis Foundation notes that walking is an aerobic exercise that:
