Adults age 60 and over? Join the Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA) at the Upper Chichester Township Recreation Center, 8500 Furey Road, Upper Chichester, PA  19061 for the Arthritis Foundation’s evidence-based Walk with Ease Program.  This FREE program is proven to reduce the pain of arthritis; increase balance, strength and walking pace; build confidence in your ability to be physically active; and improve your overall health.  Participants receive the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease Guide Book; a guide to walking for better health, improved fitness and less pain.  Information is shared at each session and then the group walks, each at his or her own pace.  The program will be held 3 days each week from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. beginning Monday, September 30th through Friday, November 8th and running Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays except Tuesday, October 15th due to the holiday.

What’s not to like about walking? It’s free. It’s easy to do, and it’s easy on the joints. The Arthritis Foundation notes that walking is an aerobic exercise that:
*Improves circulation and wards off heart disease     *Keeps your bones strong
*Lightens your mood                                                   *Leads to a long life
*Leads to weight loss                                                    *Strengthens muscles
*Improves sleep                                                            *Supports your joints
*Improves your breath                                                *Slows mental decline
*Lowers Alzheimer’s risk                                             *Helps you do more, longer
