Employment Support Services Available for Individuals with Opioid Use Disorder
Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc.’s (CAADC) Employment Bound Program helps reintegrate individuals in recovery with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) into the workforce by providing assistance to obtain and retrain employment. CAADC just began the program in July through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) so there are many slots still available. CAADC has partnered with Educational Data Systems, Inc. (EDSI) to provide support to Delaware County residents that are recovering from OUD.
The Employment Bound Program is needed now more than ever to help people struggling during the Pandemic with the loss of a job or need to find employment. Program participants will be provided with intensive case management, job readiness training, life skills workshops, assistance with employment search and counseling after employment has been achieved. Participants with OUD will have a better chance of recovery if they can secure and maintain employment.
Edward T. Coleman, CAADC Chief Executive Officer, stated “September is National Recovery Month and CAADC is dedicated to helping our local residents that have been affected by Opioid Use Disorder. Our Employment Bound Program can help them to move towards a healthier and more stable life.”
If interested in participating or for more information, please contact Lynn Jones at Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. at (610) 874-8451 or ljones@caadc.org.
