Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program
Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program offered by COSA in collaboration with Upper Chichester Department Recreation beginning October 20th
Let’s Get Walking!
The Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA) in partnership with Upper Chichester Department of Recreation and collaboration with the PA Department of Aging is sponsoring the nationally recognized Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program for those 60 and older who need relief from arthritis pain or just want to remain active.
The program will be held at the Upper Chichester Fieldhouse, 8500 Furey Road, Upper Chichester, PA 19014 and will run once a week for 6 weeks on Mondays, from October 20th through November 24th. All sessions run from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Participants in the program will receive the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease Guidebook and will walk once a week as a group and at least 2 other times a week on their own. Participants will share and receive support from a trained leader and other walkers at weekly group meetings. This evidence-based program is proven to reduce the pain of arthritis; increase balance, strength and walking pace; build confidence in one’s ability to be physically active; and improve overall health.
Program costs are covered by COSA, so the program is FREE, however class size is limited. To Register Contact: COSA’s Health and Wellness Program at 610-872-1383 or email williamse@co.delaware.pa.us. Please provide your name, address, phone number, and email address.
