Do you have Diabetes Burnout? Steps to Healthier Living - Diabetes Self-Management Program - Let's Take Control! Begins September 29th on Zoom

The World Health Organization notes that people with Diabetes can live long, healthy lives when their Diabetes is detected and well-managed.  Diabetes can be a lot of work, and despite our best efforts, sometimes we may have a hard time meeting our goals. It is easy to become frustrated and slip into unhealthy habits. This could be a sign that you have diabetes burnout.

Here’s your chance to take control!  Join COSA and Senior Community Services’ Friendship Circle Senior Center for the nationally recognized Steps to Healthier Living:  Diabetes Self-Management Program.  This program is for individuals age 60 and older with Diabetes, Pre-Diabetes or who are caring for someone who has Diabetes who is age 60 and older.  This small group evidence-based program developed by Stanford University is used around the world to help people with diabetes live their best lives by improving their self-management skills.  This interactive program will be run virtually on Zoom once a week for 6-weeks on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. beginning September 29th through November 3rd. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Participants will receive the acclaimed Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions book.  Program costs are covered by COSA, so the program is FREE, however class size is limited. Registration is mandatory.  To register, contact Ellen Williams at williamse@co.delaware.pa.us or by calling 610-499-1937 and provide your name, address, phone number and email address.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get back on track or get the support you need to stay on track.  Join us and become empowered to live healthier, feel better, and enjoy life.  The American Diabetes Association identifies this program as meeting the Diabetes Support Initiative criteria for support programming.
