Edward Raikowski Biography
1st Ward Commissioner, Edward Raikowski, was elected to the Board in 2012 and served as Vice President until 2016. Ed is the chairman of the Fire, EMS and Emergency Management Commissioner Committees.
Ed moved to Upper Chichester Township when he was 3 years old. He grew up in the Ward he currently serves as a commissioner and graduated from Chichester High School in 1979.
Ed and his wife, Sandra, of 25 years are parents of a daughter, Tiffany, and caretakers for Sandra’s special needs sister, Janice.
For over 27 years Ed has been employed with US Airways, now American Airlines.
Ed is no stranger to serving his community. He joined the Ogden Fire Company in 1978, serving many years as a volunteer firefighter. During his time with the fire company, he served as the President of the Board of Directors, and co-chaired the Upper Chichester Volunteer Fire Department Fund Drive for 21 years. Ed has since hung up his boots and currently is a 40-year life honorary member of Ogden Fire Company.
Ed is proud to work and help support the first responder community in his position as commissioner and is proud of the work completed with Boothwyn Fire Department to ensure Upper Chichester has its’ own Township Medic Unit.
When asked about the future, Ed said “I am very excited to be part of what is going on in Upper Chichester Township right now, and what we are poised for in the coming years. In 2016, the county added Boothwyn as a Town Center in their 2035 Economic Development Plan. We are excited to use that plan to help guide the work we do in the Boothwyn Town Center in the future.”
