The Public Works Department is committed to providing efficient, cost-effective services to our citizens in the areas of Streets, Storm Water, Sanitation, and Recycling. The Department of Public Works is responsible for the operation of the pick-up and safe disposal of trash. Trash pick-up is collected once a week throughout the year. The safety of our workers is extremely important as well as the cleanliness of our community. We ask residents to be considerate of your community, Township employees, and neighbors.
Recycling in the Township is single stream; all material can be mixed together in your recycling bin. Recycle pick-up is collected on a biweekly basis throughout the year. Recyclables must be placed curbside by 6:00AM the morning of your regular trash pickup. Items should be placed in your Township issued recycling bin, container of your choice, or in paper bags.

Established in 1759, Upper Chichester has a rich history and is classified as a First Class Township. It is a growing suburban community with a population of 16,738 (2010 Census). Located in southwestern Delaware County, the township is in close proximity to Wilmington and Philadelphia. Upper Chichester is one of 4 Municipalities in the Chichester School District.
The Upper Chichester Township Recreation department with the help of some very dedicated Volunteers offers a plethora of events in which residents can participate. From open gym hours in the Field House, a Summer Camp for children, to Quizzo and Bingo Events, residents of all ages can participate in some manner.
